Cat Hartwell
Tired of always hanging with the DJs, Cat Hartwell decided to take matters into her own hands & join them. For the last six years, in addition to fronting two indie-pop dance bands, DJ Cat has traveled the world sharing her love of good music to anyone who will listen. She has guest DJ'ed at venues in London, Paris, Barcelona, San Francisco, Portland & Atlanta in addition to regularly spinning at parties, bars & events in her own hometown of New York City.
Cat has DJ’ed at many of Manhattan’s trendiest bars & parties including Hiro, Misshapes, Sway, Hotel Gansevoort, Black & White, Lit, Sweet Paradise & Knitting Factory. She regularly plays in-store events for clients such as Madewell, Reiss; she is also the New York City resident DJ for the annual House of Campari event in Soho.
With a collection of music that spans from Motown, disco, pop, new wave, 80's, indie & classic rock as well as hip hop, she is happy to tailor her musical style to fit any client’s needs.
Residencies over the years have included:
- Moving in Stereo at Kabin (with Ilirjana Alushaj)
- Love Parade at Fontana’s (weekly with Jayson Green of Panthers + David Holloway) - rated Best New Party in the LES in New York Magazine, 2005
- Beauty Bar, Las Vegas – bi-weekly, summer 2005
